Now, power woes too could be sent by SMS

LECO customers could make inquiries or lodge complaints via SMS on electricity related issues, such as, power cuts. The public can know the balance of their electricity bills through this service.

LECO customers can register to experience the service by sending an SMS to 071-4643643. They can receive android softwares through www.leco.lk.

The Lanka Electricity Company (Pvt) Ltd (LECO) and the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) play vital roles in society.

Both institutions depend on the public and have a responsibility to provide a better service to the public, Power and Energy Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka said.

The minister was addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Short Message Service (SMS) introduced by LECO for customers. The new mechanism will provide customers instant solutions for electricity related problems, Minister Ranawaka said.
