War Heroes who destroyed Prabhakaran's dream
The book titled Prabhakarange Eelam sihinaya sunu visunu kala
ranaviruwo is the second book written by its author J. F. Ranjith Perera
to evaluate the contributions made by the heroic security forces, to
eradicate the ruthless terrorism of the LTTE from our motherland.
The first book titled 'Winning an unwinnable war, A tribute to the
War Heroes' was written by him to evaluate the contributions made by
political leaders and commanders of the respective Security Forces and
their officers in the suppression of terrorism and its leadership. The
second book written by the author in Sinhala to appreciate the selfless
sacrifices made by the heroic soldiers of the respective security forces
described as Ranaviruwos were the brave young men who carried guns to
the battle field against a band of ruthless terrorists amidst many
natural and other artificial obstacles placed by the terrorists to
prevent the movement of the advancing security forces.
In this process, approximately 28,000 young men of the heroic
security forces sacrificed their lives and approximately 10,000 of them
became permanently disabled.
If not for the selfless sacrifices made by them, Mother Lanka would
not have continued to be a sovereign state with its territorial
integrity intact. In addition, they sacrificed their lives to make us
live safely.
Hence this book is dedicated to these heroic men as the author is of
the view that the whole nation should be grateful to them for their
outstanding contributions which had qualified them to be 'Sri Lanka's
national heroes of the 21st century'.
The author is of the view that this book should be in the possession
of every heroic soldier who participated in the humanitarian operation
as a memorable souvenir as it had recorded their remarkable and
outstanding achievements to save our country from the scourge of
terrorism which ravaged our country for nearly 30 years and retarded its
development. |
