Iran welcomes Indian resolve for ties

Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili has welcomed India's determination to expand relations with the Islamic Republic.

He made the comment in a meeting with India's Deputy National Security Advisor Latha Reddy on Wednesday in Tehran.

The Iranian official said Tehran has a unique position in securing the world's energy supplies.

Jalili emphasized that the two countries should strengthen ties in the face of the common threats such as terrorism, piracy, and drug smuggling.

The Indian envoy also reiterated New Delhi's willingness for more cooperation with Iran, especially in the field of energy. Press TV
