Nishantha and Roshita clinch Grand Slam titles

Nishantha Fernando proved his supremacy in carrom once again by beating much fancied Chamil Cooray (25/4, 25/22) in the final and walked away with the men's Grand Slam title when the tournament concluded at the Carrom Federation (CFSL) headquarters in Maharagama recently. Joseph Roshita won the women's title beating Chalani Lakmali (25/16, 20/25, 25/15)

Grand Slam is the apex local ranking tournament where only the top 16 men and women slicers vie for honours. Nishantha has shown superb form after clinching the National title recently and was unbeaten in the tournament. Chamil has also maintained his winning spree till the final and had to be satisfied with the runner up position at the end.
