Suspects in hashish case further remanded

The three suspects who are alleged to have brought in 345 grams of hashish were further remanded till May 16, by Colombo Fort Magistrate Kaniska Wijeratne on Wednesday.

The three suspects, were taken into custody by the Police Narcotics Bureau in connection with importing and possessing of hashish.

The magistrate directed Police investigators to forward the hashish taken into custody to the Government Analyst and obtain a report and submit it to Court on May 16.

Senior Attorney Upul Jayasuriya watched the interests of actress Angela Seneviratne, who was present in court yesterday.

Attorneys Nihal Gunasinghe, Asoka Weerasuriya, Sampath Mendis, Prasanna Weerasekera and Anuja Premaratne appeared for the three suspects.

Sergeant Wijesuriya of the CID appeared for the prosecution.
