Mother of SL envoy in Russia dies

Mrs Nanda Samarasinghe Dissanayake Weeratunga died yesterday. She is the mother of Sri Lankan ambassador to Russia Udayanga Weeratunga.She was 78.

Mrs Weeratunga was attached to the Postal Department.

She is the wife of retired grama sevaka niladhari, Wilbert Weeratunga and mother of Kamini Weeratunga, Dayani Weeratunga and Dayaani Weeratunga. She is the step mother of Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa and his brothers and sisters. Remains are lying at 79/a, Kannatta Mawatha, Thalapathpitiya.
