HD ready, stereo sounds to take homes by storm
ABC launches Hiru TV:

They have stolen the number 1 spot of listeners island-wide through
their frequencies in Sinhala, Tamil and English. This May 23 they are
ready to take their listener's Television by storm as they launch their
television channel Hiru TV with digital ready and HD ready broadcasting.

Speaking to the media Asia Broadcasting Corporation Ltd Chairman
Raynor Silva said that from day one they launch this new channel, they
will change the revolution of TV viewing. The technology used on this is
very much similar to global giants Star World with clear, clarity and
quality television.
With a host of some amazing line up of programmes with brand new
faces taking the hosting spot, Hiru TV is sure to be the next favourite
channel for viewers of all ages. Programmes will be a combination of
music and dramas, plus the latest blockbusters of Hollywood and
Bollywood that have entered the cinemas.
There is a great line up of Sinhala teledramas that are sure to keep
people in their seats and glues to each episode. Some of the dramas are:
Ektam Ge - is the latest teledrama in Sri Lanka's 30 year drama history,
produced by Jayalath Pieris and Directed by Iresh Lokubandara with a
cast of Roger Seneviratne, Piyumi Boteju and Amila Abeysekara.
Yakada Pahan Thira - Features a cast of 75 actors where the story
revolves around a woman and her search for truth, her trials and
tribulations. Other dramas are Visula Ahasa Yata, Sihinayaki Jeewithe,
Vahi Lahini and Ong Aataka Naataka. Other programmes are 17 Again, Cut
Eka, Uththareethara, Niwaduwata Travel ekak, Saroopa, Aayemath Aadarei,
Kaha Ira, Sri Lanka's most desirable and Hatahra Waram. They will also
be changing the line up of programmes every three months to keep the
crowd entertained and not sticking to the same routing everyday.
The new channel will be free for all to view on their regular TV,
satellite and other networks from May 23, 6.02am onwards. |
