Ind. estate lands on 35 year lease

The government has granted approval for entrepreneurs to obtain land on a 35 year lease to start industrial facilities in the 25 industrial estates that had been established on a district basis island wide. The total investment for this 52 industrial facilities would be around Rs. 240 million.

Currently 52 applicants who had applied for permission had been allotted lands in these estates.

Many items that can be substituted for items that are currently being imported can be manufactured in these industrial facilities thereby saving a huge amount of foreign exchange for the country and over 3,000 direct employment opportunities will be generated.
