Rs 100 m for childhood development activities

The government has allocated Rs 100 million for early childhood
development activities which guides the younger generation to healthy
and knowledgeable life, fulfilling a 2012 budget proposal.
The ministry on the advice of Child Development and Women's Affairs
Minister Tissa Karalliyadda, has planned to provide several basic
requirements with immediate effect by utilizing the budgetary
allocations.
The ministry has sought the ideas and proposals of officials in the
child development sector at regional level on this issue.
The minister had a discussion recently in this regard with the
regional commissioner, Probation and Child Care Services Department
officials, District Secretaries and field officials.
The ministry will carefully consider the ideas and proposals put
forward at the meeting and take measures to solve the urgent problems. |
