Woman's stone attack kills 6-year-old

A six-year boy, who was attacked by a woman with a stone in the Kithalanwatte, Ella area last week, succumbed to his injuries at the intensive care unit of the Badulla hospital on Tuesday.

The victim, S. Manoj was attacked by the woman while he was on his way to school. Following the incident the boy had been admitted with severe head injuries to the Badulla hospital where he died while receiving treatment.

Th victim was a Grade One student at the Kitalan Tamil School.

The 26-year suspect who was taken into police custody, was produced before the Bandarawela magistrate and remanded. The suspect is also a resident of the Kithalanwatte, Ella area. The Police are investigating.
