State Vesak Festival

The State Vesak Festival was held at the ancient Maha Maluwa premises of the Sri Dalada Maligawa under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa and with the blessings of the Mahanayake of the Asgiriya Chapter Most Venerable Udugama Sri Buddharakkitha Thera and many other Bhikkus, on Monday.

President Rajapaksa presented the commemorative stamp and first day cover issued by the Sri Lanka Philatelic Bureau of the Postal Department to Most Venerable Udugama Sri Buddharakkitha Thera on the occasion.
