Made in Pakistan in Colombo
Made in Pakistan - Single country exhibition was opened by Economic
Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa in Colombo recently.
After inauguration, the minister visited stalls which displayed
Pakistani products and appreciated their wide variety and quality.
The event was attended by senior ministers, Pakistan High
Commissioner Seema Ilahi Baloch, ambassadors and officials from the Sri
Lankan business and trade sector, and a large number of media personnel.
The week long exhibition will remain open for the public from April
26 to May 1 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH),
Hall B, Colombo.
Pakistan's Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI)
organised the Made in Pakistan - Single country exhibition in Colombo in
partnership with the Pakistan High Commission.
Over 50 Pakistani trading and manufacturing companies are
participating in this exhibition. Among the products displayed are
carpets, rugs, onyx products, jewellery, brass crafts, sports equipment,
fashion and fabrics, leather goods, handicrafts, wood, rosewood
furniture and house wares, etc.
Pakistan has a rich history of handicrafts. The entire wealth of
timeless Pakistani handicrafts has survived through ages. These
handicrafts radiate an aura of glory, exhibit hereditary skills and show
painstaking craftsmanship, said a release from the Pakistan High
