| Economic Development Minister Basil
Rajapaksa inaugurated the ‘Exposition and Buyer and Seller
Meet’ organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Indian
Commerce and Industry Ministry at the BMICH yesterday. Among
those present are Indian High Commissioner Ashok K Kantha,
Deputy Ministers Lasantha Alagiyawanna and Nandimithra

| Co-winner of the 2007 Nobel Prize for
Peace (Vice Chair of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on
Climate Change – IPCC AR4), Prof Mohan Munasinghe was
congratulated by Bhutan Prime Minister Jigmi Y Thinley after
delivering a keynote speech at the recent United Nations
Conference on Well-being and Happiness in New York,
sponsored by the King of Bhutan and the Office of the UN
Secretary General. Other speakers included Nobel Laureates
and leading world experts on measuring human well-being.
Prof Munasinghe is also Chairman of the Munasinghe Institute
for Development, Colombo and Professor of Sustainable
Development, SCI, University of Manchester, UK. |
