President visits nuclear power plant in Busan
President Mahinda Rajapaksa visited the Kori Nuclear Power Plant in
Busan, Seoul yesterday evening after addressing the Sri Lanka- Korea
Business Forum organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in
Busan.
The President was welcomed by the plant's head Young Il Lee.
The commercial activities of the Kori power plant commenced in 1978.
It was constructed under four phases. The power plant generates
electricity for Busan which is the second largest city in South Korea.
The President also signed the guest book of the plant after making a
field visit inside the power plant.
External Affairs Minister Prof G L Peiris, MP Sajith Vass Gunawardena
and Sri Lankan ambassador to Korea Tissa Wijeratne also participated. |
