First Lady visits leading children's hospital in South Korea

First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa yesterday visited Hangyan University
South Asian Children's hospital, one of the leading children's hospitals
in South Korea located at Seoul city.
The First Lady was welcomed by Hangyan University Group of Hospitals
Chairman Chong Yang Kim and medical staff of the hospital. The hospital
is considered to be one of best children's hospitals in South Asia and
there is a separate ward complex for foreign children. This
sophisticated hospital provides residential facilities for around 800
children. A special school is also functioning for the children at the
hospital premises and this is managed by the University through a
special fund. A special unit has been set up for the cancer patients and
this provides latest treatments for the children.
The First Lady held cordial discussions with the children who undergo
treatments and distributed presents among them. The First Lady's visit
to the hospital was organized by the Hangyang University and the
Chairman Yang Kim and medical staff held a special discussion and agreed
to provide treatments for child cancer patients and provide free
expertise and consultations to Sri Lanka for treatments. Hangyang
University Hospital Fund Director Sung Yong Park and Hangyang University
Director John Hyum Kim were also present. |
