Romania to strengthen bilateral trade with Lanka

Romania is to strengthen bilateral trade and economic relationship
with Sri Lanka as there is tremendous potential in the fields of
tourism, developing road infrastructure and machine building for
industries,Ambassador for Romania in Sri Lanka Dr Victor Chiujdea said
making a presentation at the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka
on Wednesday.
He said Romania is the second largest country in Central Europe and
has a high degree of integration to EU.Romania exports electrical
equipment, chemicals and papers to Sri Lanka while importing rubber, tea
essential oils, seafood and clothing items from Sri Lanka.
Referring to two important projects in the past he said in 1998
Romania supplied 891 railway passenger coaches to Sri Lanka and Sri
Lanka supplied 5,000 sets of wooden furniture to Romania and emphasized
the importance of reactivating the bilateral trade between the two
countries. |
