Sanka Ramesh concludes school cricket career in style

Moratu Vidyalian star allrounder and undoutedly the best allround
cricketer of schools today, Sanka Ramesh bid audi to his cricket career
at his Alma Mater in grand style. Under his leadership they drew their
Big Match and convincingly won the limited over and twenty20 matches.

Sanka who played cricket for his school first eleven team for four
years, captained the team in 2011-12 season. In addition to school
cricket he represented Singhalese Sports Club under 23 team and this
year he plays in the division two Donovan Andree Trophy for Old Moratu
Vidyalian Sports Club.
It paved the way to improve his cricket career by playing club
cricket at the tender age and in club cricket too he excelled.
He scored three consecutive centuries when he walked to the crease in
three successive innings with two centuries for his school and a
brilliant 134 runs against formidable Old Anandians in a division two
match and was among the wickets too.
Last year he scored 1,167 runs and claimed 103 wickets and became the
first ever Vidyalian to achieve this rare feat and the third schoolboy
to do so in seventeen matches.
This year he took 103 wickets and scored 860 runs in the thirteen
matches. |
