Trinity beat St. Peter's to enter final

Trinity College, Kandy qualified for the final of the Dialog youth under-19 limited over cricket tournament when they beat St. Peter's College by 87 runs in the semi-final played at CCC yesterday.

Trinity scored a total of 234 for eight with the help of Niroshan Dikwella's knock of 47 and Ron Chandraguptha's 42. Akila Jayasundara scored 35 while Lakshitha Dassanayake made 31. Udaka Galhena took two for 38 on behalf of the Peterites. With the help of a good all-round performance by former skipper and Trinity Lion Akila Jayasundara and three quick wickets by Lakshan Jayasinghe, Trinity College easily bowled out the Peterites for 147 in 39.1 overs. Shashin Fernando scored 27 while Kavinda Tissera supported his side with another 27. Akila Jayasundara was the most impressive among the bowlers with four for 21 while Lakshan Jayasinghe bagged three for 9.
