Cancer awareness programme

The Global Hospitals Group together with their local partners, Forte International will conduct a programme on cancer at the Ballroom of the Ramada Hotel on March 31 at 9.30 am.

Five oncologists from Global Hospitals in Bangalore will participate in the programme which is open to the public.

The team of consultants arrives with the blessings of the Sri Lanka College of Oncologists.

They will also conduct a medical seminar to the medical fraternity. For information - 077-3953668

Service cancelled

The regular second Sunday service of Praise and Worship at the Cathedral of Christ the Living Saviour, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 7 will not be held on April 8 (Easter Sunday).

The services will continue every second Sunday from May 13.


The educational exhibition Janadhipathi Vidyalaya Mela 2012 held in support of Maharagama Vidyalaya School Development Association will be held at Maharagama Janadhipathi Vidyalaya from April 4 to 8 from 4pm.


A seminar organised by the Organisation of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka (OPA) on Economic Development Beyond Western Province will be held at the OPA Auditorium, the Professional Centre, 275/75, Prof Stanley Wijesundera Mawatha, Colombo 7 on April 2 at 6.00 pm. The seminar is conducted by Finance and Planning Deputy Secretary Dr B M S Batagoda.


The 11th Annual General Meeting of Kumpulan Malayu Battaramulla (KMB) will be held at the residence of T R S Marjan, No 778/G2, 1st Asiri Uyana, Pelawatta, Battaramulla on April 6 at 3.30 pm.


The Conference of Sri Lankan Malays (COSLAM) will hold its 12th annual general meeting at the YMMA main auditorium conference, No 63, Sri Vajiragnana Mawatha, Dematagoda on April 1 at 10.00 am.

Avurudhu pola

The Avurudhu pola organised by Visakha Vidyalaya Old Girls' Association will be held at the school premises tomorrow from 9am to 6.30pm.

The pola will feature trade stalls. Proceeds will be used for school development projects.

Annual walk

The annual walk of President's College, Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte will begin from the school premises tomorrow at 8am.

Lindsay walk

The Past Pupils' Association of Lindsay Girls School will hold A Journey to Reinforce, Lindsay Walk 2012 tomorrow at 7.30am from the school premises.

It aims to raise funds for the construction of a new building for classrooms and upgrade facilities.

Website launch

The ceremonial launching of the official website of the Group of 90s of Zahira College, Colombo will take place tomorrow at 6.45 pm at Booker Reception Hall, Hedges Court, Colombo.

Public talk

Dhamma Weerakone will deliver a public talk in English on Rathavinitha Sutta: The rely Chariots at the meeting of the Servants of the Buddha Society tomorrow at 4.30 pm at Maithree Hall, Lauries Road, Bambalapitiya.
