'Technological innovation, key to development'

Modern technological innovation has to play a vital role in developing any country and information technology development is vital for developing countries, Public Administration and Home Affairs Minister W.D.J.Senevirathne said.

The minister was addressing the re-launching ceremony of the Public Administration and Home Affairs Ministry's website at the ministry's auditorium recently.

Making the public aware of day to day incidents, the current situation of the country and important information about the world is very important, he said.

In the new website, details are available in Sinhala, English and Tamil languages.

The people have the opportunity to search and have more services. The ministry has added new features, such as, transfer corner, bungalow booking system and grievance handling system to the website.

The ministry has also added circular management system, discussion forum and Grama Niladhari information system.

Public Administration and Home Affairs Deputy Minister Wijaya Dahanayake, Ministry Secretary P.B.Abeykoon and Ministry's Media Spokesman Rohana Weththasinghe also participated.
