Advanced facilities for old schools

The North Central Provincial Council has launched a programme to provide modern and advanced educational facilities, including physical resources to very old schools in the North Central Province.

Under this programme, on the instructions of North Central Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake, a series of needy schools in the rural areas were being offered computer technology facilities.

At the inauguration of the newly constructed Computer Technology Unit at Parasangahawewa Vidyalaya, the Chief Minister said that for survival in the field of employment opportunities and job market, students should be well versed in computer technology, Information Technology and Foreign Languages, including English and Tamil. The Chief Minister emphasized that the North Central Provincial Council has dedicated itself to achieve these objectives and have been succeeding in the endeavour.

"According to the North Central Education motto: "There is no future without education."

The Nuwaragam Palatha (Central) PS Chairman B N Wijesundera also spoke.
