St Anthony's and Shasthrananda clash in Battle of Two Cities

The 2nd annual cricket encounter between St Anthony's Boys College, Panadura and Shasthrananda College, Dehiwala will be played at the Panadura public grounds on March 27 and 28 and the one day encounter will be played on April 4 at the De Soysa stadium, Moratuwa.

This ‘Big Match’ is popularly known as the ‘Battle of Two Cities’ in two districts, Colombo and Kalutara.

St Anthony's team is led by Nuwan Dhanushka who is a fine all rounder.

Mohomed Sylmi is a good all-rounder scoring over 330 runs and claimed 26 wickets.

Dinesh Dimantha has been the leading batsman of St Anthony's team, making 546 runs with an unbeaten 230 runs (not out) against Madampa Madya Maha Vidyalaya, Ambalangoda.

Wicket keeper Manoj Dilan Anurudha leads Shasthrananda College this year. Vice captain Lahiru Namal coloursman achieved the only century to his credit. L H H Wijesiri is master-in-charge and Basil Jinendra is the coach of the first eleven at St Anthony's this season.

Ven Madugastalawe Wimalabuddhi Thera is the master-in-charge and Kapila de Silva and Suranga Priyadharshana are the coaches of the first eleven at Shasthrananda College.
