Geneva resolution no impact on Lankan trade :
‘Europe, SL’s biggest apparel market’
The United Kingdom, and Europe as a whole, is the
single biggest market for Sri Lanka's apparel exports. Nearly 50
percent of the exports , US$ 2 billion out of a total of US$ 4
billion go to Europe. That figure has grown despite the economic
downturn in Europe, where customers and shoppers have been
tightening their belts in tough times, British High Commissioner
John Rankin said.

SL could use its geo-strategic location for economic prosperity

Milestone agreement between the two institutions:
Commercial Bank signs remittance agreement with Doha Bank
Sri Lankans living and working in Qatar who bank
with Doha Bank can now electronically transfer funds to their
accounts at the Commercial Bank of Ceylon, following a milestone
agreement between the two banks. The agreement also facilitates
remittances online to beneficiaries who have accounts at other banks
in Sri Lanka as well.
