Bentota Beach Festival on March 30 and 31

The Bentota Beach Festival 2012 organized by the 'Hawk Eyes' and Bentota Sports Club will be held on March 30 and 31, 2012 at Bentota, comprising beach and water sports along with adventure sports, and social and cultural events.

The main aim of the event is to promote beach and water sports and to support the development of tourism industry in Sri Lanka. The event is allowed for both local and foreign tourists and the events are open for everyone. The events to be held under three categories namely water sports, beach sports and other attractions. This festival will be a tremendous boost for Sri Lanka tourism industry as several competitors from European countries, Australia and New Zealand will take part in this festival also offering keen opposition to local competitors.

A number of local and foreign contestants have submitted their applications for the events and the winners of each category will be rewarded with attractive prizes. The event is planned to be held annually in the future.

A musical show and a colourful cultural pageant will commence at the end of the both days with the participation of international DJs and local artistes. SUN FM DJs Blake Stryder, Skyler, Sean Summers and The Saint and the tribal drummers, Naadro Band and Fire Dancers. It will also feature Sri Lanka's own Bathiya and Santhush and Iraj thus providing entertainment for the whole family.

Both local and foreign people have shown a great interest towards this beach games festival because of the ease of access to the Bentota Beach Carnival in just half an hour drive from Kottawa through the Southern Expressway.

Dialog Axiata PLC, SriLankan Airlines, Ceylon Hotels Corporation and Natures Secret will be the sponsors for the event. Rupavahini, Sun FM, CSN and ANCL will be the official media partners to the event.

The entrance ticket for the event priced at Rs 1,000 is available at all Cargills outlets and at the entrance at Bentota Beach Fest Venue and tickets could be purchased online through www.tickets.lk. For more information and other inquiries call 0773421565.
