Lakshima wins a triple crown

Lakshima Peries of NTB won a triple crown by winning the women’s singles final, women’s doubles final (partnered with Manosha Chandrasena) and the mixed doubles final (with Kushan Maduranga) at the AVI MBA 29th Novices Badminton Championships 2012 which concluded yesterday at S Thomas’ College Indoor Sports Complex, Mount Lavinia.

She beat Ruwanthi Vidyani (Francisku) by 21-11, 21-12 and went on to overcome Damithri Thudahewage (Raksil) and W K Ruwanthi (Francisku) by 21-15, 21-11 in the women’s doubles partnered by Manosha Chandrasena (NTB) Lakshima joined by her teammate Manosha Chandrasena defeated Damithri Thudahewage and W K Ruwanthi in a three setter by 23-25, 21-12, 21-11.

Prabash Indrajith (NDB) won the open mens’ singles when he defeated Kushan Maduranga (NTB) in a two setter (21-12,21-10) in the final
