Woman with heroin gets RI, fine

Chilaw Provincial High Court judge Malanee Gunaratne presiding at the Panadura Provincial High Court on Friday, sentenced a woman found guilty of possessing and trafficking heroin weighing over one gram, to seven years’ rigorous imprisonment and fined her Rs 200,000.

The woman was indicted by the Attorney General on two counts with possessing and trafficking heroin weighing more than one gram. State Counsel Dishna Warnakula prosecuted.
