Servant remanded for theft at MP's house

A female servant was taken into custody by Rideegama Police for the alleged theft of jewellery from Kurunegala district MP Nilwala Wijesinghe's house. The suspect, who had worked at the residence for nearly 10 months, is alleged to have stolen jewellery valued at over Rs one million.

The Police said they found part of the stolen jewellery in the suspect's bag. The suspect produced before Rambadagalla magistrate Dinesh Chandana Banadara was remanded. Investigations are continuing
