Sailors clinch wrestling crown

Navy wrestlers proved their supremacy and emerged National Wrestling Champions, winning four gold, three silver and five bronze medals in the 74th Wrestling National finals worked off at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium recently.

Participation of wrestlers from three Forces and renowned Sports Clubs in the island were prominent in the tournament and the preliminary round has been worked off at the Sri Lanka Judo Federation premises.

Altogether 42 sailors competed in eight weight categories and obtained 34 overall points to clinch the overall champion title.
