Easy win for Peterites

St.Peter's College retained their stability in the under 19 school cricket arena when they beat St.Sylvester's College, Kandy by 10 wickets at the limited over quarter final match of the Dialog under 19 championship played at Bloomfield Grounds yesterday.

St.Peter's College won the toss and put St.Sylvesters's College to bat first. Peterite bowler's were able to restrict the St.Sylvester's side to a total of 109 runs in 40 overs. Harsha Madushan supported the St.Sylvester's side with 18 runs. Right arm fast bowler Ali Khan was the most impressive among the bowlers with three for 17.

In reply, St Peter's College hit 110 runs for no loss with the help of left hander Shashin Fernando who knocked 50(not out) inclusive of four boundaries and two sixes . Right hander Shehan Fernando also contributed 57 (not out) with seven hits to the ropes and one over it which made the game much easier for peterites.

St.Sylvester's : 109 ( Harsha Madushan 18, Ali Khan 3 for 17)

St.Peter's : 110 for no loss ( Shashin Fernando 50 n.o., Shehan Fernando 57 n.o.)
