Three remanded for alleged murder of woman

Three suspects who had allegedly killed a 69 - year - old woman after raping her, were remanded until March 28 by Horana magistrate Mahinda Ranasinghe.

The victim, a mother of three, was a resident of Palpitigoda, Poruwedanda.

The suspects aged 32, 55 and 58 are also residents of Palpitigoda.

Ingiriya Police found the woman fallen on the road near Palpitigoda Lake and admitted her to Ingiriya Hospital and later transferred her to Horana hospital where she died.
