"Our philosophy on winemakers dinners is elegant dining, top quality
grape and minimal interference in pairing the perfect wine with fine
food. The result is truly outstanding and delicious," GM Anura Dewapura
stated. We are delighted to be joined by Paul Boulden from Sandalford
Wines who will take us through a full range of Sandalford wines, matched
to a delicious 4 course set menu created by our chefs headed by
Executive Chef, Indika Jayawardena, Anura added. Paul Boulden honed his
skills with Chateau Monbazillac in France.
In 1997, Paul made the move to a well-known boutique winery, Killerby,
located in the Geographe region of Western Australia (WA). Within a year
he also took on the role of General Manager as well as winemaker. After
four years at Killerby he was offered his current position of Chief
Winemaker starting with the 2001 vintage at Sandalford Wines, the oldest
and largest Vineyard in Margaret River.
Since Paul's arrival at Sandalford Wines the winery has won multiple
trophies and Gold medals across all of the Australian Capital City wine
shows. Indeed, since 2010 the noted wine expert James Halliday has rated
Sandalford Wines a 5 Red Star winery (his highest honour) in his latest
Wine Companion naming no less than four of the Sandalford wines in his,
"Best of the Best" section. |
