Chef Ricardo |
Slow Food is a global, grassroots organization with supporters in 150
countries around the world who are linking the pleasure of good food
with a commitment to their community and the environment. Slow Food was
founded in 1989 to counter the rise of fast food and fast life, the
disappearance of local food traditions and people's dwindling interest
in the food they eat, where it comes from, how it tastes and how our
food choices affect the rest of the world.
With a global vision of "envision a world in which all people can
access and enjoy food that is good for them, good for those who grow it
and good for the planet" slow food is a novel concept to us Sri Lankans
and at MLH, the pioneers of this convivum is ready to welcome all to
this dining experience.
March surfaces the 30th slow food night, with Italy in focus
featuring Chef Riccardo Rizzoli currently serving as the Executive Chef
for Vakarufalhi, the MLHG's(Mount Lavinia Hotel Group) based in exotic
Maldives.
Chef Riccardo a world renowned debonair of delectable Italian
cuisine, will be displaying his culinary master skills at 'Slow food
Italian' which will take place on March 31 at the Horizon roof top from
7 pm. Italian cuisine has become famous as one of the richest in the
world, noted for its regional diversity and abundance of difference in
taste, characterized by its extreme simplicity, relying on the quality
of the ingredients rather than on elaborate preparation. |
