Dialog Broadband to acquire 100% of Suntel
Dialog Broadband Networks (Private ) Limited , a fully owned
subsidiary of Dialog Axiata Plc entered into a share purchase agreement
with all the shareholders of Suntel Limited for the acquisition of 100%
of the ordinary shares of Suntel .
The final conclusion of the acquisition of shares have been completed
on the fulfillment of the conditions precedent to the transaction as
stipulated in the share purchase agreement.
The newly reconstituted Board of Directors of Suntel comprise Dr Hans
Wijayasuriya, Moksevi Prelis and Moi Tsu Tan
Cooray to Ramada Board
Prema Cooray, has been appointed to the Board of Alhambra Hotels Ltd,
Owners and Operators of Ramada Colombo, effective February, 25.
Cooray currently functions as Managing Director/CEO of CCC Solutions
(Pvt) Ltd which is a fully owned subsidiary of the Ceylon Chamber of
Commerce, Sri Lanka's foremost Business Chamber. Prior to taking this
appointment, Cooray held the position of Secretary-General/CEO of the
Chamber (2003-2008). He is the immediate Past Chairman of Aitken Spence
Plc with over 30 years in the Travel and Tourism industry. He led the
hotel sector of Aitken Spence for several years making a significant
contribution in making Aitken Spence a leading player in the development
of resorts both in Sri Lanka and Maldives.

National Agribusiness Council (NAC) and the Sri Lanka Food Processors
Association (SLFPA) signed a MOU recently at the SLFPA secretariat for "ProFood/ProPack
and Ag Biz 2012.
The main objective of signing this MOU was to work as one unit to use
the strength of both parties to extend the ProFoods/Propack and Ag Biz
exhibitions up to international level.
The MOU was signed by Rohitha Nanayakkara, Secretary NAC and Mervin
Gonawela, Secretary SLFPA. Aruna Weerakoon, Chairman NAC and Hamilton
Diaz, Chairman SLFPA was present at the event.
This year's exhibition will be held on July 6 to 8 at the Sirimavo
Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre.

Asian shares mixed
Asian markets were mixed Thursday as a surprise trade surplus from
Japan was offset by more weak data out of China, adding to concerns over
a slowdown in the world's second largest economy.
The latest batch of downbeat news from Beijing initially sent shares
into negative territory but most markets staged an afternoon rally, with
bargain buying providing the impetus.
Tokyo closed 0.40 percent, or 40.59 points, higher at 10,127.08 and
Sydney added 0.46 percent, or 19.4 points, to 4,273.7 while Hong Kong
gained 0.22 percent, or 44.93 points, to 20,901.56. AFP |
