Ethiopian woman living with Indonesian dies of AIDS

An Ethiopian woman Woldemichel Tewabech Kebede aged 42 years who
lived in a house at Walana, Panadura with an Indonesian woman, died of
AIDS H I V positive while she was under treatment at the Panadura base
hospital, hospital authorities announced on Wednesday.
The case was reported to the Panadura Police which commenced
investigations into the matter Panadura AJMO Dr Prasan Wijetunga
certified that the Ethiopian woman died of Aids HIV Virus. Police
investigations revealed that Sinnathamby Wanindra, a Sri Lankan Tamil
who was with her in the past had also died of AIDS. He was a retired
employee of the United Nations Organisation in USA.
An inquest into the body of the Ethiopian was resumed by the Panadura
inquirer into sudden deaths Adikaram and postponed for further inquiry.
There were no relatives to claim the body of the dead woman.
The inquirer recorded the evidence of the occupants of the house at
Walana, Panadura where she lived with the Indonesian woman Rasheena,
with a child attending an International School in Panadura. Dr S.
Sivakumara the MOH Panadura said he had notified the death of the
Ethiopian woman to the Director of Health Services Western Province.
A comprehensive inquiry would be conducted into this death as she
died of Aids HIV Virus.
Panadura Police also informed the Foreign Affairs Ministry regarding
the death giving all details of the Ethiopian woman.
The body of the woman is lying at the Panadura base hospital mortuary
pending investigations. |
