Praguna launches Haritha-mana
Marking another milestone in the history of environment conservation
in Sri Lanka a dedicated Sustainability Development Programme was
launched by FCCISL and NCE Large Category Service Award Winner, Praguna
Management Consultants (Pvt) Limited, a leading consultancy firm
providing business solutions to over 300 organizations in diverse areas
and involved with Environment Standards, Quality Enhancement, compliance
and Supply Chain.
Training services which include being the trusted service partner for
Product Certification and Service Inspectors for the UL, a Trusted Label
for products from Sri Lanka to India, America and NAFTA countries. AT
the inauguration of the Haritha-mana Programme and the first workshop on
'Vision building for Go Green' for the business sector of Sri Lanka was
held at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute (SLFI) on February 3, 2012.
The session, were represented by CEOs, MDs and HR Managers
representing reputed companies in Sri Lanka to learn compliance needs to
reduce their Environment Costs by minimizing CO2 emissions and other
pollutants into the environment, contributing towards trapping carbon by
adopting Green Strategy and reducing the environment cost of products
within the value chain and to ensure stakeholder inclusiveness in all
aspects of environment and go green processes.
In global context, no business can survive without attaining
Environmental Sustainability. Business is all about survival. In order
to survive, businesses need to generate profits. Today, many leading
businesses have recognized that long-term sustainable development
requires good environmental performance, good social performance and by
not adequately addressing Biodiversity issues imposes risks on business
operations, its brand image and reputation.
A company's position in the marketplace and indeed its profitability,
mere survival and existence can be threatened by Environmental and
social risks by challenges to its legal license to operate Disruption of
its supply chain.
Damage to the brand image Consumer boycotts and campaigns by
environmental NGOs Fines, third party claims for environmental damages
and causation of environmental liabilities: Lower ratings in the
financial markets, poor staff morale,reduced productivity and enmity by
society by way of sabotage are some of the imminent risks. |
