'Having overcome terrorism spanning over three decades, the nation is now enjoying peace and solidarity under a stable government ,' said Export Development Board Chairman and Chief Executive Janaka Ratnayake.

'With the country's prospects improving, the government has embarked on a massive development drive to invigorate the economy and achieve the country's development objectives such as creation of employment opportunities, improving the standard of living and more importantly taking these benefits to the grass roots level in the region.

"Considering the present conducive environment prevailing in the country, the Export Development Board has taken the lead in organizing Sri Lanka Expo 2012 to promote Sri Lanka's economic development activities in trade, investment and tourism," he said.
