Sincere and dedicated public servants need of the hour - District
Secretary
Divakara MOHOTTI- Kalutara Group Cor.
"Public servants should perform their duties correctly, should give a
patient hearing to the public who seek their assistance and should also
perform their duties in a sincere and dedicated manner.
"I am sorry to say that some of our colleagues in the public sector
are found wanting in this respect," said Kalutara District Secretary
B.H.L. Wimalasiri Perera addressing the 10th Annual General Meeting of
the Kalutara District Pensioner's Trust Fund held at the Kalutara
Education Office Auditorium recently. Wimalasiri Perera said that public
servants too may become non entities in society once they go on
retirement.
Therefore, they should place themselves in the position of the
ordinary public and think what they would feel if they are treated in an
arrogant manner when they seek some service from public servants in
their later life.
Chairman, Kalutara District Pensioner's Trust Fund S.R. Liyanage said
that Pensioner's Trust Funds have been set up in each district with a
total membership of nearly 475,000 members.
The Kalutara District Pensioner's Trust Fund has kept proper
accounting records pertaining to the subscriptions collected by members
and the money utilized for various welfare projects for its membership.
The Kalutara District Trust Fund had also been adjudged the best
maintained fund and won accolades at a competition held recently.
The Secretary of the Fund Ariyasena Vidanapathirana, Treasurer B.H.H.
