Doctor’s wife nabbed for power piracy

The Colombo Special Investigation Unit nabbed a doctor’s wife for pirating electricity for her house in Kulupana, Pokunuwita.

The woman employed as a nurse was fined Rs 10,000 by Horana magistrate Mahinda Ranasingha. The magistrate also ordered her to pay Rs 153,767.50 to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB). Officers who also checked a house nearby, found that the owners were also pirating electricity.

The suspect was fined Rs 10,000 by the Horana magistrate and also ordered to pay Rs 103, 642 to the CEB.
