The Medicare National Healthcare exhibition commenced at the BMICH
yesterday under the patronage of First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa.
The Medicare - 2012 National Healthcare exhibition was organized for
the third consecutive year by the Western Province Health Department.
The Daily News and the Sunday Observer are the print media sponsors of
the event.
An attraction at the exhibition is the stall organized by the Arogya
health magazine of Lake House.
The exhibition is open to the public until tomorrow.
Public seminars have also been organized. These seminars will be
conducted today and tomorrow from 11am to 6pm at the exhibition
premises. Participants will be made aware on cancer prevention,
detection and treatment, reproductive health and sub-fertility, the
public benefits of recent advances in cardiology, eye care and beauty
care, plastic surgery and surgical scars, through the seminars. This
event will play a vital role in supporting the national objectives,
encouraging the exposure of new trends, technologies to professionals
and will educate and create awareness among the public to face new
challenges in the sphere of personal health.
The Medical Equipment and Pharmaceutical Exhibition will be Sri
Lanka's one and only platform for all medical professionals to be
exposed to the latest and most sophisticated commodities in the medical
industry.
This exhibition will provide both local and international medical
equipment and pharmaceutical companies with an opportunity to meet
prospective buyers, such as, procurement officers, hospital owners and
decision makers in the government and private sector.
Western Province Health Minister and all stakeholders in the
healthcare industry were present at the opening ceremony. |
