Lankan shop worker killing:
Teen admits manslaughter
A teenager has admitted killing a Lankan shop worker on Merseyside,
in Liverpool UK. Mahesh Wickramasingha, 30, suffered fatal stab wounds
while working at Stanley News in Huyton on November 29.

Sam Harrison, 19, of Salerno Drive, Huyton, appeared by video link at
Liverpool Crown Court where he pleaded not guilty to murder, but
admitted manslaughter.
He was remanded in custody until May 21 when he will face trial on
the murder allegation.
Wickramasingha, a father-of-two, was originally from Sri Lanka and
had come to the UK to support his family. He was described by friends as
"a brilliant man, well-liked, very courteous and polite".
Police are also appealing for help in finding a missing mountain
bike.
They believe it may have been used around the River Alt off White
Lodge Avenue on the night of the killing. Courtesy BBC
