Police hunt for driver

Dompe Police are on the lookout for a suspect hit and run driver who is alleged to have knocked down a cyclist and fled the scene without informing the Police. The cyclist died at the Dompe Hospital on Monday.

The Police stated that the cyclist Wimalaarachchige Premadasa (58 ) of No: 69, Bathalahena, Thiththapattara wasknocked down at around 9 pm in front of the 146 B house on the Hanwella-Kirindiwela road, Monday, February 27. People residing in the vicinity where the accident occurred admitted the victim to hospital.
