Korean schols for three Lankan students

The government of the Republic of Korea presented three Sri Lankan students with opportunities to study in Korea under a five-year undergraduate degree course scholarship.

The objective of the scholarship programme is to provide international students with an opportunity to conduct advance studies at higher educational institutions in Korea, to promote international exchanges in education and mutual friendship between countries.

Among many candidates, three students were selected by the Korean government with the cooperation of the Higher Education Ministry last month.

They will arrive in Korea today to study for a one-year language course and a four-year undergraduate degree course in universities in Korea.

Korean ambassador to Sri Lanka Jongmoon Choi invited the students to the embassy to hand over the letter of invitation for the scholarship to the students.

The ambassador said that the scholarship programme will contribute towards the development of human resources in Sri Lanka.
