Pradeep Edward heads SLIM-BUCKS Alumni
The SLIM/Bucks Alumni conducted its inaugural Annual General Meeting
under the patronage of Vice Chancellor of BUCKS University UK Prof.
Deric Godfry, and Pradeep Edward was unanimously appointed as President.

Wanasinghe and SLIM Executive Committee officials at the SLIM House
recently. The event was attended by a large gathering of Bucks MBA
Holders in the country.

President SLIM, Perera reiterating about the launch of the MBA Alumni
said that SLIM as the leader in Marketing and Management education
continually encourage transparency, best practices and knowledge
sharing, believing in an open community.
"We encourage all present and past students to actively participate
in the SLIM Alumni programme to further reap the best through learning
with their peers".
Commenting about his appointment Edward, President Elect SLIM-BUCKS
(UK) Alumni, said that he wishes to acknowledge and the recognize the
effort of the SLIM President, Thushara Perera and the Executive
Committee for the unparalleled support rendered towards this initiative.
"We as a community will not only drive and share management education
and best practices, but continue to build a hub of management
professionals, through sustainable projects enhancing the developing
process Sri Lanka through education".
He said that they are also looking at organizing series of events to
woo more members to the association. "We are looking at launching a web
site soon," he said.
He said that they want to assist the country in any way they could to
move to the next level. "We are now happy to observe that the level of
English and IT knowledge is improving and this trend is also evident in
Universities as well," he said.
The new President explained that the candidate who has bettering
communication skills in English and knowledge of IT gets better
positions in the mercantile sector.
The newly appointed board members plan to aggressively conduct a
series of knowledge sharing events which would benefit all past and
present SLIM-BUCKS MBA students. Further the committee will implement
projects and practical knowledge sharing events helping rural school
students in their field of education. He said that today there are so
many opportunities for youth and the higher education should be job
oriented. "We are ready to travel any where in the country and conduct
workshops for youth as to how they should mould their careers," he said.
Pradeep attained a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing and also a Post
Graduate Diploma in Business Management. He currently holds a honorary
status as a Practicing Marketer in Sri Lanka and as a Certified
Professional Marketer in Asia Pacific. He also holds a Fellowship from
the Institute of Management Specialist (UK) and is a MBA holder of the
Bucks MBA program. He has over 16 years' experience in marketing both in
local and Multinational Companies. Pradeep currently works in the
capacity of General Manager at NovEx Pharmaceuticals Limited, He also
has been a Past President of the Pharma Promoters Association of Sri
Lanka and was a Director of the Asia Pacific Marketing Federation. He is
currently the Secretary of the Rugby foundation of St Peter's College.
The inaugural office bearers of the SLIM-BUCKS Alumni comprise of
Pradeep Edward, President, Sampath Weerasinghe, Vice President, Ms.
Madhurangi Abeygunasekera - Secretary, Ms. Imesha Gunasekara - Assistant
Secretary, Anthony Jayasena - Treasurer and Vajira Kulasinghe, Assistant
