Angry protests spread in Afghanistan over Koran burning
Afghanistan: Hundreds of angry Afghans took to the streets in the
capital Kabul and the eastern city of Jalalabad yesterday as protests
spread over the burning of the Koran by NATO troops.
About 500 protesters threw stones at a US military base on Jalalabad
road in Kabul, while in the eastern city more than 1,000 demonstrators
blocked the highway shouting “Death to Americans, Death to Obama”, AFP
journalists said.
