Power failure due to technical fault

A power failure was reported in several parts of the country yesterday evening due to a technical fault in the power transmission line at Habarana. The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) electrical engineers took swift measures to avert an islandwide power failure.

A CEB spokesman told the Daily News that several districts, including, Puttalam, Kandy, Trincomallee and Anuradhapura were affected due to the sudden power breakdown.
