Motorcyclist, lorry assistant killed

A soldier on a motorcycle and a lorry assistant were killed on the Puttalam-Kalpitiya road in a bus-cycle collision and a lorry-lorry collision on the Puttalam-Chilaw road on February 18.

The soldier was identified as H M Malaka Samansiri, 34, and the lorry assistant as Mohamad Abdul Rahim, 29, of Galahitiyawa, Narammala.

Puttalam and Chilaw police have taken the three lorries and drivers into custody and are proceeding with the inquiries.
