First Small and Medium Scale Business Centre of People's Bank opens in Anuradhapura

Under the government programme of strengthening small and medium scale business sectors, People's Bank opened its first small and medium scale business centre in Anuradhapura recently under the patronage of Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa.

This centre located on Mahajana Pola Mawatha, Anuradhapura was opened simultaneously with Deyata Kirula National Development Exhibition, will offer loan facilities for agriculture based products, livestock, apparel, fisheries, tourism, construction and many more business sectors. Furthermore, it is equipped with a complete library with internet access and auditorium facility. Also, an efficient and friendly consultation service is on offer at the business centre by specially trained staff.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Telecommunication and Information Technology Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Agrarian Services and Wildlife Minister S.M. Chandrasena, Anuradhapura District Parliamentarian, Shehan Semasinghe as well as public representatives of the area and government officials and People's Bank Chairman W. Karunajeewa, People's Bank Director Dr. D.J.D. Jayakody together with the staff, corporate and executive management of People's Bank and customers.
