Plantation Ministry to reward stakeholders

The first ever National Plantation Awards ceremony, organized by the Plantation Industries Ministry will take place this year under an initiative of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The award ceremony is the brainchild of Plantation Industries Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe and will be held to recognize the contribution of all stakeholders in the plantation sector. Awards will honour winners in more than 60 categories.

DFCC CSR award presentation

DFCC Bank in association with the Education Ministry launched a special CSR programme to uplift selected public schools especially in the provinces. The initiative was titled "Towards an exemplary society" and focused on educating and training teachers and primary school students from selected schools across Sri Lanka on the theoretical and practical application of 5S concepts and Safety (6S) and the 3R principles (Reuse, Recycle and Reduce).

An event to recognize the best schools in the programme will be held on February 27 at Water's Edge Ballroom, Battaramulla, Education Minister Bandula Gunawardhana as the chief guest.
