Hameedia ties up with Madura Fashion India

Sri Lanka's leading menswear specialist Hameedia tied up with Madura Fashion and Lifestyle India to import and distribute leading brands such as Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly and Peter England in Sri Lanka.


Hameedia’s Manager Marketing and Sales Leroy Ebert, Hameedia’s Deputy Managing Director Hussain Sadique, Madura Fashion. Lifestyle’s COO Shoaib Farooqi and Madura Fashion & Lifestyle’s Head of Branded Exports Sandeep Ganapathy at the tie up.

The agreement will cover three years contact period where Hameedia will have the master franchise over the product range.

Hameedia has been in partnership with Madura Fashion and Lifestyle India, the largest and fastest growing apparel player over two decades and the tie up will signifies the vision to enhance men's personality and lifestyle. While expanding the current portfolio and thereby enriching its product offering Hameedia' s is in a position to present youthful, quality, affordable and world class fashion to its loyal customers, Hameedia's Deputy Managing Director Hussain Sadique said.

The two fashion power houses-Hameedia and Madura Fashion and Lifestyle will joined hands to launch a concept store under the brand name Planet Fashion where it will exclusively retail all products of the four brands.

This will be the first of its kind multi brand store that will only retail leading international brands. Plans are in place to open a series of Peter England brand stores in prime locations in Colombo, he said.

There is huge potential in Sri Lanka and we consider the added partnership will continue to add to the bottom line. Hameedia will represent our business interests and we look forward to a fruitful relationship, Madura Fashion and Lifestyle COO Shoaib Farooqi said.

We plan to extend manufacturing facilities in Sri Lanka. The present volatile situation in the country will not hamper business opportunities as apparel is a growing market segment. We are assured of a win-win situation, he said.

The product range will be on mid-price, premium and super premium to cover different strata of society.

Hameedia today enjoys the enviable position of being the leading menswear specialist with a rapid expanding clientele in Sri Lanka and overseas markets such as India, the Maldives, Norway and Czech Republic.
