Sierra Global strengthens ties with Alcatel-Lucent

One of the foremost telecommunication infrastructure development and management service firms, Sierra Global further strengthened their ties with the leading global telecommunications corporation, Alcatel-Lucent recently.


Alcatel-Lucent Sri Lanka and the Maldives President and Managing Director Upendra Samaratunge, Sierra Global Director and CEO Dr Arosha Fernando, Sierrra Global Consultant for Market Communication and Market Development Fanny Moreno, Sierra Global General Manager Network Operations Ajith Liyanage, Sierra Global Deputy General Manager Network Operations Madhura Somaweera and Sierra Global Senior Account Manager Gayan Rathnasiri.

Sierra Global is currently undertaking a number of 3G base station installations and micro wave installations for Alcatel-Lucent in Sri Lanka. "We have been working for Alcatel-Lucent for almost the past 10 years and have been partnered with them in projects not only in the Sri Lankan market but also in some overseas markets too including the Maldives."

"Time to come we intend to focus more on overseas projects with Alcatel-Lucent particularly in the Africa region," said Sierra Global Director and CEO Dr. Arosha Fernando.

Sierra's 30 years experience of the local market and selected overseas markets blends with the highest technical expertise of all types of technologies and vendors including Alcatel-Lucent. "I trust the company is well positioned to take a leap in to the African region in the near future," said Sierra Global Consultant' Market Communication and Market Development Fanny Moreno, who is currently working on a market strategy and business development towards selected overseas markets including the African region.

Alcatel-Lucent has operations in more than 130 countries. In 2011 it was added to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index.
